Why identify your bike ?

Increase the chances of recovery if stolen. Ensure safe second-hand sales by avoiding stolen bikes. Deter theft.

With bike registration, any recovered bike can be returned to its rightful owner. In France, around 300,000 bikes are stolen each year and law enforcement recovers about 100,000 of them – but without registration most cannot be returned.

How to identify your bicycle ?

Buying a bike from a bike dealer
Case 1

Buying a bike from a bike dealer

Since 2021 in France, every new or used bike sold by a dealer must be registered at the time of sale.

Bikes purchased before 2021

Bikes purchased before 2021

Although bike registration is not mandatory, it is strongly recommended. Registering your bike makes recovery easier if it is stolen and gives buyers confidence if you decide to sell it later.
